ND Army National Guard band playing free concertsFARGO — The North Dakota Army National Guard's 188th Army Band is playing a series of free concerts across the state starting next week to celebrate the band's 125th anniversary.
North Dakota native Jocelyn Hagen composed a piece titled “Salute” that is dedicated to the musician soldiers who have taken part in the 188th Army Band. The first concert is scheduled for July 30 in Fargo. The band also will play in Grand Forks, Minot, Williston, Bismarck, Wahpeton and Lisbon.
The 188th Army Band was organized in Valley City in 1887.
