2 injured in crash west of RothsayROTHSAY, Minn. – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident just west of here on Highway 9 on Tuesday evening, the Minnesota State Patrol said in a news release.
Diane Schwartz, 66, of Moorhead, and Derrick McDonald, 49, of Westmont, Ill., suffered minor injuries after their two vehicles collided near the intersection of Highway 9 and Country Road 26 at around 6 p.m. Tuesday, the patrol said.
Kenneth Schwartz, 71, of Moorhead was traveling eastbound in his 1998 Mercury Villager van on County Road 26 when he failed to yield to McDonald, the patrol said.
His van collided with the passenger side of McDonald’s Chevrolet Silverado, injuring Diane Schwartz and McDonald in the process, the patrol said.
Road conditions were reportedly dry at the time.
