Sunday storms drop hail on parts of region

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Sunday storms dropped hailstones as large as golf balls in southeastern North Dakota’s Ransom County and in northwestern Minnesota’s Lake of the Woods County, the National Weather Service said.

The 1.75-inch-diameter hail was reported two miles southeast of Enderlin and in the city of Baudette, Minn.

In Cass County, ping pong ball-size hail was reported six miles west of Kindred, with nickel-size hail reported a mile west of the city.

Quarter-size hail fell 17 miles south of Fargo, one mile west of Christine and seven miles southwest of Englevale. One-inch hail also was reported four miles southeast of Rollag, Minn., and two miles south of Osage, Minn.
