Great marathon, but lodging costlyI ran the 2012 Fargo Marathon. It was the most enjoyable of the marathons I have run. The course was the easiest I have run, there were always people to applaud, and the course was so “winding,” I was always surprised when another mile marker appeared. The shirt, sports bag and medal were also the best combination I have received.
However, the cost of staying in Fargo was unbelievable. I know the race is a big financial boost to the local economy but $700 for a motel and having to book three nights was a bit much. It’s the most I have ever had to pay to run a race.
