High-risk sex offender arrested for failing to registerFARGO – A high-risk sex offender was arrested late Friday afternoon for failing to register with local law enforcement, a U.S. Marshals Service news release reported.
Ahmed Rashid Toliver, 30, was arrested by mem-bers of the High Plains Fugitive Task Force based on a federal warrant issued Thursday.
The warrant charged Tol-iver with violating the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) by allegedly living in Fargo for several months without registering his residence at 2219 30th Ave. S, the release said.
Toliver was arrested by task force officers and transported to the Quentin N. Burdick U.S. District Courthouse.
Task Force Officer Bill Clug said Toliver was sentenced to be held in custody at the Cass County jail until his detention hearing in three to five days.
The high risk sex offend-er is a lifetime registrant due to a 2001 conviction for gross sexual imposition in Cass County District Court.
