ND park board meeting turns into shouting match over eviction disputeGLADSTONE, N.D. — A park board meeting in the southwestern North Dakota community of Gladstone turned into a shouting match.
The Thursday meeting was to discuss the possible eviction of permanent campers from Gladstone's Prairie Rose Park.
The campers are working in western North Dakota's oil fields. They've been given notices that they're supposed to leave by Aug. 10. But a lawyer says the notices weren't authorized by a majority of the park board.
The Dickinson Press reports that park board member Monty Martin called other board members liars and said they were ignorant of the law.
He threatened to sue board member Erin McGahuey when she said he was acting like a dictator. McGahuey called Martin's statements "real mature."
The board didn't act on the eviction notice.
