Weekend watch: ‘My Fair Lady’ by the Straw Hat Players

Today and Friday

The curtain closes on another Straw Hat Players season, but not before Eliza Doolittle gets her say. The comedic musical “My Fair Lady” follows the attempt of a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from Henry Higgins so that she can pass for a proper lady.

The Lerner and Loewe musical gave us staples like, “Wouldn’t it be Loverly,” “The Rain in Spain” and “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face.” The show opens at 7:30 tonight at Hansen Theatre, Roland Dille Center for the Arts, Minnesota State University Moorhead and plays again Friday, then returns Tuesday before closing on July 27.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and alumni and $10 for students. (218) 477-2271.
