Weekend watch: Northwest Water CarnivalToday – Sunday
Prepare to get all wet. The Northwest Water Carnival in Detroit Lakes, Minn., which started July 13, will have participants soaking up the fun this weekend with a variety of events.
The fun flows today with a homebrew contest and tasting. Friday’s events
feature water fights for kids and adults at 5:15 and 6:30 p.m. in City Park and a party in the pavilion from 8 to midnight with music by the Front Fenders. Saturday’s highlights include the Bash on the Beach with tunes from Troubadour at 7:30 p.m. and headliner Blackhawk at 10:30 p.m. The event concludes on Sunday, featuring a classic car cruise on Washington Ave. at 12:45 followed by a Parade at 1 p.m. For full details go to www.dljaycees.com/events.For more information call (218) 234-6154.
