Cass County man hurt in crash faces DUI charge

WHEATLAND, N.D. – A 21-year-old man was hurt when the pickup truck he was driving rolled in the ditch near here on Sunday, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

Jacob Mogen of Wheatland faces a DUI charge after the accident, which happened at about 8:12 p.m. along Cass County Road 5, according to a patrol news release.

Mogen was driving a 1999 GMC pickup faster than the posted 25 mph speed limit when the vehicle entered the west ditch and continued southbound until striking a driveway approach and going airborne, the patrol said.

The pickup landed in the ditch, drove up onto County Road 5 and did a complete 360-degree turn on the driving surface before going back into the ditch, where it rolled onto its passenger side, the patrol said.

Mogen was taken by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for unspecified injuries. His condition was not available.

The pickup was totaled.
