Minn. library to reopen sections soaked in faucet mishap

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The St. Paul Central Library hopes to reopen several sections next week that got drenched after a custodian left a sink faucet running overnight.

Library director Kit Hadley says a custodian left the water running at the end of a Friday shift on July 6. She says workers who arrived Saturday at 7 a.m. found water pooling on a large section of the third floor, including a magazine room.

A St. Paul Pioneer Press report (http://bit.ly/Loi41D ) says library officials positioned large fans to dry things off. They plan to reopen the affected sections Monday.

Hadley says she's not aware of any significant damage to books or computers.

She says the library is in the process of determining the cost of repairs.
