Cramer named one of GOP’s ‘Young Guns’WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee has named Kevin Cramer a “Young Gun” for the 2012 campaign.
The designation is the top tier in the committee’s four-step “Young Guns” program, which funnels money and political support into electing strong GOP candidates in competitive House races across the country.
More than two dozen candidates nationwide have been designated as “Young Guns” by the NRCC.
Rep. Rick Berg was named a “Young Gun” during his 2010 campaign against incumbent Democrat Earl Pomeroy.
“Kevin Cramer has met a series of rigorous goals that will put him in position to win on Election Day,” NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions, R-Texas, said in a statement Thursday. “The momentum behind his campaign is proof-positive that North Dakotans are fed up with President Obama’s policies.”
Democrat Pam Gulleson has also been targeted by her national party recruiters as a viable candidate worth backing financially.
