Weekend watch: Grandstand shows at the Red River Valley FairFriday-Sunday
3The Red River Valley Fair, 1805 Main Ave. W., West Fargo, took a blow when its biggest show, The Band Perry, had to postpone. Luckily that wasn’t the only musical highlight scheduled this year.
Hair bands of the 1980s are a fair staple and this year Hairball offers samplers of the biggest anthems and ballads from the Aquanet era. After pumping up area crowds as an opener at WE Fest last summer and for Miranda Lambert in January, Jerrod Niemann gets his shot at a headlining gig Friday, where he’ll likely take a shot with his hit, “One More Drinking Song.”
Chevelle revs up the hard rock crowd Saturday night. Country newcomer Justin Moore winds things up Sunday with his hits “Small Town U.S.A.” and “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away.” Opening acts play at 8 with headliners to follow. Concerts are free with gate admission, $7 for ages 12 and older and $3 for kids from 6 to 11. (701) 282.2200.
