Fugitive Focus: Darin Allan Borseth

Local and federal authorities seek to apprehend a 24-year-old West Fargo man who is wanted for failing to register in Cass County as a child offender.

Darin Allan Borseth allegedly failed to register April 24. Failing to register is a Class C felony.

Court records show Borseth pleaded guilty to the same charge twice before in Cass County for failing to register as a sex offender, in September 2009 and again in January 2010.

In July 2010, Borseth was given credit for jail time served on the charge and sentenced to one year of probation in exchange for suspended jail time.

On the separate charge of the same crime, Borseth was sentenced a month later to time served and a suspended jail sentence.

A search of North Dakota, Minnesota and federal court records could not determine the original crime for which Borseth is required to register.

He is not listed in either the national or North Dakota databases for registered sex offenders.

North Dakota court records show Borseth also has more than a dozen misdemeanor convictions on his record, including various traffic violations, malicious injury to property, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
