Police re-open Main Avenue Bridge after suicide watch

FARGO – Police on both sides of the Red River closed off access to the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Main Avenue at 2:40 p.m. today as they responded to a suicide watch.

An unidentified male was standing on the ledge of the bridge railing, so traffic was closed off to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. A rescue boat sat beneath the bridge.

The bridge re-opened for traffic just before 3 p.m.

The bridge connects Fargo and Moorhead.
