Fargo man accused of stabbing ex-girlfriend

FARGO – A Fargo man is accused of stabbing his roommate and ex-girlfriend in the arm several times and taking the phone away from her when she tried to call 911.

Ahmed Abdi Dubat was charged with aggravated domestic assault and interference with an emergency call on Monday in Cass County District Court.

According to court documents:

Police responded to a domestic assault report at 5:19 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of 22nd Street South. An officer found the alleged victim bleeding from several apparent puncture wounds to her left bicep area.

The woman told police Dubat was still upset about their breakup several days before. She said an argument ensued when he came home and found out she had been talking to another man.

Dubat allegedly opened a folding knife and stabbed the woman. When she reached for her cell phone, he grabbed it and ran out of the apartment, she said.

Dubat, who was born in 1984, was located at the residence early the next morning and arrested.
