West Fargo wins tournament championship in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. – Tucker Bucholz hit his first home run of the season as the West Fargo Patriots defeated Papillion 6-2 in the championship game of the 48-team Battle of Omaha American Legion baseball tournament on Monday.

“The kids had really good chemistry,” West Fargo head coach Bill Ibach said. “They really picked each other up. They are learning to trust each other.”

Camran Bonnema and Andy Young each had two hits for West Fargo in the title game.

“We wanted to let it all hang out to win this tournament,” Ibach said. “The team wanted to measure themselves against good competition.”

Tanner Dahl threw a complete game with five strike outs for the Patriots (15-3)
