Praise for Sisters of PresentationWe were happy to see the article in the Forum concerning Sister Jan Ihli, one of the Sisters of the Presentation. The article “Nano’s House Nana” was in the June 1 Forum and told the story of Sister Jan’s devotion to being a temporary foster parent to children during crisis situations.
We are familiar with Sister Jan and the other Sisters of the Presentation. They are a humble, but strong, group of women doing “God’s work” on Earth. Presentation sisters consistently strive to be faithful to their call to service by “doing what needs to be done.”
Their program, Partners in Housing, provides financial assistance to families and individuals for rent, security deposits or utilities. The Sisters also collaborate with the Cass Clay YWCA, making transitional housing available for women and children in need.
The Prayer Center provides a quiet place of prayer and solitude in a busy city for a few hours or overnight as a retreat. The Presentation Center is a wonderful respite and prayer center, and also houses a nursing care facility for those who worked in the religious life and need a little extra help at present.
We are proud to financially assist these women in “God’s work” on Earth. They have other projects too numerous to be listed here. If you would like information on the Presentation Prayer Center and the sisters who live and work there, call (701) 237-4857 or go online to www.presentationsistersfargo.com or, better yet, visit them at 1101 32nd Ave. S. in Fargo.
