Fort Berthold housing project gets tribal approvalNEW TOWN, N.D. — The Three Affiliated Tribes Business Council has approved a Texas company's plan to build housing on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in western North Dakota's oil patch.
Fort Worth-based Enspire Management Consulting Group plans to build three oil field crew camps and use the revenue they generate to build about 210 single-family homes for tribal members. The project also calls for upgrades to wastewater treatment facilities.
The Minot Daily News reports that the reservation has a housing shortage that has been exacerbated by the oil boom.
