Corps sets open house Tuesday for updates on northern end of FM diversionFARGO – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from St. Paul, in cooperation with the Diversion Authority, will be hosting a public open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn to provide design updates for the northern end of the proposed Fargo-Moorhead flood diversion project.
The proposed project will involve construction of a 36-mile long diversion channel to direct floodwater around the metro area. It will also temporarily store up to 200,000 acre-feet of flood water to minimize downstream impacts, a release stated.
Updates will address only the northern end of the diversion.
