Weekend watch: The Oak Ridge Boys at Shooting Star Casino

After decades as a gospel act, the Oak Ridge Boys successfully transitioned to country in the late 1970s and ruled radio in the ’80s. They switched backed to gospel in the ’90s, then switched back to country again with 2009’s “The Boys Are Back,” which included the vocal group’s take on John Lee Hooker’s “Boom Boom” and more surprisingly The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.”

Expect less of those and more of their staples like “Elvira,” “Bobbi Sue” and “American Made” when they play the Shooting Star Casino, Mahnomen, Minn., at 8 p.m. Friday. (800) 313-7469.
