Storms, high wind leave 72,000 Minnesotans without powerMINNEAPOLIS — It'll be a steamy day ahead for some Minnesotans, especially those who are lacking power and the cool relief from an air conditioner.
Xcel Energy says 72,000 customers lost electricity after strong storms and high winds snapped power poles overnight. About 60,000 customers in the Twin Cities are among those who don't have service.
Forecasters are expecting temperatures in the 90s Tuesday along with high humidity. Thunderstorms are expected Tuesday evening. And, a flash flood watch is in effect for the Twin Cities area through Wednesday.
