Mahnomen man arrested twice in one morningMAHNOMEN, Minn. – A 24-year-old Mahnomen man is in double trouble after authorities here say he allegedly kicked out the rear window of a squad car after being arrested, then fled on foot before being arrested again.
According to a press release from the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responding to reports of an intoxicated man Sunday morning around 6:45 found Tyler Sargent, who should have been home on house arrest, allegedly with narcotics in his possession.
After being arrested, Sargent allegedly kicked out the rear window of the squad car and fled back into the city as a deputy was bringing the narcotics into the office.
Neighbors who witnessed the escape alerted deputies, who arrested Sargent for a second time in a field two hours later.
Sargent is facing possible charges of probation violation, possession of narcotics, fleeing a peace officer and criminal damage to property.
