Sanford awarded $12 million grantFARGO – Sanford Health has been awarded a $12 million Health Care Innovation grant by the federal government Centers for Medicare/Medicaid.
According to a news release, this is the largest operational grant Sanford has ever received and one of the largest grants CMS has given.
The program stems from the Health Care Reform Act. The grants are given to applicants “who show the ability to quickly implement the most compelling new ideas to deliver better health, improved care and lower costs” to people enrolled in Medicare and Medicaid, according to a release.
The grant will be used to expand the medical home program, integrate health services into primary care, increase the number of nurse health coaches and standardize quality reports, the release said.
