It was exciting, emotional when Gilbertson turned keyWhen Michele Gilbertson of Kindred, N.D., turned the key and opened the door to their dream home in front of an estimated 2,500 people in Scheels Arena, I was unexplainably moved by the wonderful emotion and excitement of Gilbertson and her family.
On one hand, here is this amazing and deserving family, just absolutely great people, winning the house of their dreams. What is also very rewarding, and what some people may not fully understand, is how proud I am of our Fargo-Moorhead area business partners for coming together to create such a dream come true for the people who make it possible for us to be in business – the people who live in this great community.
For the past 12 months, Designer Homes, Great Plains Integrated Marketing and many amazing area contractors unselfishly came together in an effort to show the Fargo-Moorhead area that when businesses work together as one, putting the community and people first, we all move forward and we all benefit.
Owning my own building company and having been involved in real estate for the past two decades, I have been afforded the opportunity to work with literally thousands of great people from all over the Fargo-Moorhead area and beyond. I can tell you without any hesitation that because of the team of companies and people who came together, and the culminating moment and excitement of the Gilbertson family winning this home, this home giveaway project was the most rewarding moment of my career.
And it’s very important for me to say that it is because of the amazing clients/friends who have given me the opportunity to serve them that I was able to create this great event with the wonderful partner businesses that we work with from our community. I can’t thank the clients of all of our sponsors enough for their amazing support and loyalty.
I want to thank the many members of the building community, GPIM, and my employees at Designer Homes for the commitment to our community. I would also like to thank my friends in the media who covered the story and helped all share in the well-deserved magic brought to the Gilbertson family. But, more importantly, the underlying message is that when businesses and people come together for the common good, the community at large is the true beneficiary.
Please feel free to visit the Facebook page for the Giveaway of a Lifetime to see all the amazing sponsors that helped make this great dream a reality, as well as updates on the Gilbertson family moving into their dream home.
