Three injured in Polk County crash

FISHER, Minn. - Three people were injured Monday afternoon in a broadside collision six miles northwest of Fisher on U.S. Highway 2, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

At about 3 p.m., a 2011 GMC Sierra driven by Darren L. Hollands, 28, of Fisher, was crossing Highway 2 from 210th Street Southwest when he failed to yield to an eastbound 2001 GMC Yukon, causing a collision.

Hollands was injured and taken by ambulance to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, as were the two occupants of the Yukon, driver Anthony L. Eley, 43, of Thief River Falls, and Summer D. Barclay, 26.

A nursing supervisor said Hollands and Barclay were treated and released by Monday evening, while Eley was in satisfactory condition.

Traffic was reduced to one lane and directed around the accident scene Monday afternoon.

The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Department, Fisher Ambulance, Fisher Fire Department, Altru and East Grand Forks Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene of the crash.
