Heitkamp ducks big questionsDemocratic Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp needs to start answering to the people of North Dakota. Since launching her campaign, she has failed to clarify her stance on the large issues and has been mostly invisible to North Dakota residents.
Other than travel the state negatively attacking her opponent, what has Heitkamp done? I understand her liberal record is not what the majority of North Dakotans want nor support, but I would still like her to clarify how she feels on current political issues, rather than just attack others.
Once again, we have a North Dakota Democrat who is good at speaking “North Dakotan” but, on the issues, contradicts most North Dakota values and beliefs. She needs to explain how she will represent North Dakota values and put us first when her record shows she was a vocal advocate of Barack Obama and Obamacare.
How does she differ from President Obama when they both support the health care takeover? How does she differ from Nancy Pelosi when they both support raising taxes on the American people? Does she support Harry Reid and Senate Democrats not passing a budget in more than 1,100 days?
Bashing your opponent and hiding from the people is not the way to campaign in North Dakota.
Right now, my choice for our next U.S. senator is a clear one, and I won’t be choosing a person who negatively attacks her opponent while hiding from the people.
