Crew camps proposed for North Dakota reservationNEW TOWN, N.D. — A Fort Worth, Texas company has proposed building three crew camps on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in western North Dakota.
Enspire Management Consulting Group, LLC, said revenues generated from the crew camps will go toward building about 210 single-family homes for Three Affiliated Tribes’ members living on the reservation.
The Fort Berthold Reservation is in the heart of state's oil boom and in dire need of housing.
Michael Bay, managing member of Enspire, told The Minot Daily News that, initially, the project was for the Four Bears Segment but it has been expanded to include New Town and Mandaree.
Bay said the revenue from the crew camps would generate the necessary capital to build the new subdivisions and houses at no cost to the Three Affiliated Tribes.
Enspire officials presented their project and a resolution to the tribal business council last month.
The council's executive committee unanimously approved the resolution, and the full tribal council is slated to vote on it Thursday.
Bay said the company hopes to begin construction on crew camps later this summer.
