Not at all surprised by endorsementIt comes as no surprise to me that Mayor Dennis Walaker has chosen to endorse Melissa Sobolik. She has come out in favor of many of the mayor’s policies. She supports raising your sales tax in June. She supports bike lanes and the NP/First Avenue project. In fact, she touted the entire Go 2030 plan, which she had no part in creating, as the centerpiece of her campaign. For those who have not seen the plan, it equates the big spender’s guide to reshaping Fargo in Minneapolis’ likeness.
So, no, I am not surprised that Walaker endorsed a candidate who will rubber stamp every spending initiative he wants to force on the people.
The more important question is, do you endorse her and her policies of overspending, or do you endorse fiscal responsibility? Do you believe we should continue to fund extraneous projects like bike lanes, or do you believe we should prioritize spending and make flood protection a priority? If you chose the latter on these points, then you endorse me for Fargo commissioner.
