Roesler helps Oregon 1,600 relay team set record, win Division I national titleDES MOINES, Iowa – Sophomore Laura Roesler ran the third leg on the winning women’s 1,600-meter relay at the NCAA Division I Outdoor track and field championships.
Roesler, a Fargo South graduate, helped the Ducks cross the finish line in a time of 3 minutes, 24.54 seconds. Oregon edged LSU, which finished second with a 3:24.59.
Oregon set an NCAA meet record in the 1,600 relay. English Gardner, Chizoba Okodogbe and Phyllis Francis joined Roesler on the winning team. Francis overtook LSU’s Jonique Day on the final leg of the race.
Roesler earned her second All-American honor at the meet. She finished fourth in the 800 meters Friday.
The Ducks finished second in the team race with 62 points. LSU won the team title with 76.
