Measure 3 has a hidden agenda

I am a Catholic. Catholics are quite challenged when it comes to questioning ordained clergy leadership at diocesan levels. People have read of the trials and tribulations many Catholics of the Fargo Diocese endured last year. Catholics responded vocally to little avail, and then with the one language the Catholic Church does understand – our checkbooks. But most other Christians could only offer their encouragement and prayers for us.

However Measure 3 is an opportunity for people of all faiths to voice their disapproval of a hidden agenda power play within the diocesan leadership, and a simple “no” vote is all it takes. Measure 3 is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and like so many other diocesan leadership tactics, is being promoted as beneficial for our faith. What it really does is further tighten a rein on North Dakota Catholics.

A simple “no” vote on Measure 3 is all it takes, and we still retain all our religious freedoms assured us by our Constitution.
