ND state park celebrating 75th anniversaryBOTTINEAU, N.D. — Lake Metigoshe State Park in north-central North Dakota is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
The state Parks and Recreation Department says a variety of events are scheduled Friday night and Saturday. Saturday is "Visitor Appreciation Day" and the vehicle entrance fee is being waived. The park also will be serving lunch.
Lake Metigoshe State Park is in the scenic Turtle Mountains, about 14 miles northeast of Bottineau. It was built by the Depression-era Works Progress Administration. Parks and Recreation says it is one of the most popular year-round vacation spots in North Dakota.
