Former Fargo South runner Roesler, Oregon women’s 1600 relay advances to finalsDES MOINES, Iowa – Former Fargo South track and field standout Laura Roesler helped the Oregon women’s 1600-meter relay team to a first-place finish in their semifinals heat race at the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s championship track and field meet on Thursday at Drake Stadium.
Roesler – a sophomore – and Devin Gosberry, Chizoba Okodogbe and Phyllis Francis raced to a time of 3 minutes, 29.46 seconds and advance to the 1600-meter finals set for 12:50 p.m. Saturday.
Oregon holds the third fastest time entering the finals. Louisiana State University raced to the fastest time in the semifinals at 3:28.01.
