Kansas City jumps on Caldera en route to win over RedHawks

FARGO – Kansas City jumped on the hottest pitcher in American Association baseball in the first two innings to claim an 8-3 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks Wednesday night at Newman Outdoor Field.

RedHawks righthander Alex Caldera, who entered the game with a 3-0 record and a 1.33 earned run average, gave up five runs on four hits in the first two innings. Only two of those runs were earned as the RedHawks committed two errors.

Kansas City, now 10-9, will play the RedHawks, now 8-11, in the finale of the four-game series at 7:02 tonight.
