Fargo's Cooper wins USHL Scholar-Athlete Award

FARGO – Fargo Force defenseman Brian Cooper has been named recipient of the 2011-12 United States Hockey League Scholar-Athlete Award.

The USHL Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes players for success in the class room and on the ice. Cooper maintained a 3.9 GPA at Fargo South high school while scoring six goals and posting 18 assists during the 2011-12 season. Cooper has earned a scholarship to play hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha this coming fall.

Cooper is the first player from the Fargo Force to earn the USHL Scholar-Athlete award.
