The Melvins play Fargo on way to world record

Iconic rockers The Melvins will play in Fargo en route to setting a Guinness World Record as the first band to tour the full United States and D.C. in 51 days.

The trio plays The Aquarium in Fargo on Sept. 18, sandwiched between shows in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Minneapolis.

The tour starts Sept. 5 in Anchorage, Alaska, and ends Oct. 25 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

In three decades together the group has played every state but Alaska, New Hampshire, Delaware, Hawaii and North Dakota.

The group, led by singer/guitarist Buzz Osborne, and their signature heavy, slow sound, is credited with inspiring acts like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Tool and others.

Tickets for this ID-only show go on sale at noon on Friday at Tickets300 by phone at (866) 300-8300 or online at both JadePresents.com and Tickets300.com. Tickets are $15 in advance or $17 the day of the show. Fees may apply.
