Area seniors celebrate graduation on Sunday

In a cap-and-gown bonanza, the graduating classes of five area high schools got their walking papers Sunday.

Fargo North, Fargo South, Moorhead, West Fargo and Fargo Davies high schools all bid so long and good luck to their seniors, sending nearly 1,400 students out into the world.

For Davies, it was the first graduating class in the 4-year-old school’s history. The other four schools have combined to produce hundreds. Moorhead High, on the other end of the spectrum, has been around (in different buildings) since the late 1800s.

At West Fargo’s ceremony at Scheels Arena, deceased senior Eleni Wilson, who died at age 17 after a brain aneurysm in October, was awarded an honorary diploma. Wilson’s diploma was accepted by her longtime boyfriend.
