Getting supportSupport groups are available for people with mental health disorders and for families of those with mental health disorders.
Mental Health America of North Dakota offers the following support groups, which meet weekly in the first floor lunchroom of the Manchester Building, located at 112 N. University Drive in Fargo.
The meetings are free, confidential and open to people experiencing mental illness and substance use problems.
The Depression, Stress & Anxiety Management Support Group meets from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays. Dan Kensok is the facilitator.
The Recovery & Wellness Support Group is a combination of the former Coping with Depression & Bipolar Disorder Support Group and the Family Support Group. These meetings cover the entire range of behavioral health disorders, and are open to people with mental health disorders and their family members.
The Recovery & Wellness Support Group meets from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday. It’s led by volunteers Darrin Albert and Brian Powers, both of whom are certified Peer Support Specialists.
