Bison to make different mark: NDSU unveils revised logos, new typeface

FARGO – North Dakota State has unveiled revised versions of its primary and secondary athletic logos and a new custom typeface that will be used in athletic publications and team apparel.

NDSU previously used more than two dozen logo combinations available in two, three or four colors. The new identity package includes three logos only available in yellow and green.

“With our teams gaining more and more national exposure, we need to have a consistent look among all of our sports,” said NDSU associate athletic director Troy Goergen.

The three remaining logos were slightly revised. Logo changes and the typeface were developed from the existing shapes and letters by Pennsylvania-based Joe Bosack Graphic Design Company.

The revisions will be implemented over time with some changes being made immediately and others happening through normal replacement, such as jerseys and team equipment.

Changes within facilities will be made as cost allows.

NDSU’s logo package was initially created by Fargo’s Flint Communications and introduced in 1999. The secondary “head” logo was created by CI Sport of Fargo and added in 2006.
