No injuries at Minn-Dak plant fire in Wahpeton

WAHPETON, N.D. – No injuries were reported at a fire at a Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative plant north of here on Tuesday evening, according to a Minn-Dak news release.

Employees at the plant called 911 to report the fire at approximately 5:10 p.m., the release said, and by 6:15 p.m. it had been contained by firefighters with the Wahpeton, Dwight and Lidgerwood fire departments. No hazardous materials were released as a result of the fire, according to the release.

KBMW AM reported that Richland County highways 30 and 87 were temporarily closed due to the fire.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
