Two injured in Grand Forks hit-and-run

Two people were injured in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 29 in Grand Forks Friday morning.

Driver Kristen Jackson and passenger Erik Carter, both of the Grand Forks Air Force Base, were traveling north around 2 a.m. when they were hit from behind by a 2008 Ford Super Duty pickup, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Jackson’s 2008 Dodge Avenger went into the ditch and the pickup left the scene.

The pickup was later found at a rural home in Grand Forks County. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and has not released the owner’s identity.

Jackson and Carter were taken to Altru Hospital where they were treated and released.
