Reward offered in bald eagle death in ND

BISMARCK — Wildlife agencies are offering a reward for information about the death of a bald eagle left at a Wishek home in December.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the North Dakota Game and Fish Department are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the conviction of the people responsible.

Authorities say that between Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 of last year, someone left a bald eagle at a residence while no one was home. Bald eagles are protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and by North Dakota State law.

People with information can call the North Dakota Game and Fish Department at (701) 220-7160 or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at (701) 355-8531.
