South High’s annual car, art shows todayFARGO – South High School students will display hot cars and cool art in the school’s eighth annual Auto Show and Art Club exhibits today.
The auto show will be in the south and east parking lots outside of the auto shop. The event will feature more than 50 vehicles from students, staff and area businesses.
RDO Equipment, Titan Machinery and Butler Machinery – partners in the school district’s diesel technology education pilot program – are new to this year’s show. Among their vehicles will be a backhoe demonstration, where students operate the machine to drop a ball in a bucket.
Other displays include military, law enforcement and emergency vehicles, motorcycles, and a South High Bike Club restoration project – the “Bruin Cruiser” – an antique J.C. Higgins (Schwinn-built) bicycle.
The Art Club’s annual exhibit includes pieces on display by students throughout the school’s Commons, a sidewalk chalk mural, jewelry sales, live music, and root beer floats.
