Stabbing leads to arrest of Moorhead woman

MOORHEAD – A Moorhead woman was arrested early today in connection with a stabbing incident that left a 39-year-old man with what appeared to be superficial wounds, police Sgt. Mike Detloff said.

Police were called about the stabbing shortly before 1 a.m. from Sanford Medical Center, where the victim was being treated in the emergency room.

Detloff said the victim, Abdirahman Ahmed, had been stabbed several times with a kitchen knife. His wounds appeared to be superficial and not life-threatening, he said.

The investigation found that the victim and suspect, who knew each other, had been drinking at an apartment with two other people in the 2400 block of Third Avenue North, Detloff said.

Police aren’t certain what prompted the attack, he said, adding, “I think it was more like a disrespect type of thing.”

Officers arrested 45-year-old Juanita Lavon Linson on suspicion of second-degree assault and possession of drug paraphernalia and took her to the Clay County Jail.
