KVLY mimics Fox News styleI watched the afternoon news on KVLY on Saturday, May 12. There was a 30-second or less blip on President Barack Obama honoring a group of law enforcement officers, with his dialogue basically blocked and perfunctory network coverage essentially telling what the occasion was.
Then, Mitt Romney’s appearance at an evangelical university was covered. Romney had at least three appearances where his dialogue was attempting to strengthen his relationship with the religious right. He was practicing his usual “tell ’em what they want to hear” speech. I guess that I was surprised. I hadn’t heard that KVLY had been taken over by FOX news.
However, after thinking about it, KVLY has certainly changed its values this past couple of years. This goes from their choice of news announcers on down. What’s next? Will there be a half-hour Rush Limbaugh “news” program during prime time? They just lost a viewer in my living room.
