Fargo sets high-temperature record at 95 degrees

FARGO – The high temperature soared to 95 degrees this evening, three degrees above the record for this date set in 1988.

The intense heat, combined with gusty winds and low humidity, makes for a blast furnace effect.

Saturday’s high is expected to be much cooler – welcome news for runners participating in the Fargo Marathon – at around 70 degrees, with a 60 percent chance of rain, with thunderstorms likely, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
