Police investigate Moorhead parking lot incident that left one injured, several cars damaged

MOORHEAD – Moorhead Police are investigating an incident that resulted in injuries and damage to vehicles in a north Moorhead parking lot.

According to a police report on the incident:

Officers responded about 3:17 p.m. Friday to a call to the east parking lot of the Family Service Center at 715 11th St. N.

A witness told police that a vehicle driven by Abdiwali Mohamed, 24, of Fargo, parked on the north side of the lot.

The witness said the vehicle then quickly traveled in reverse, striking several vehicles while traveling in a circle in the lot.

The vehicle then drove forward, striking another vehicle that forced the vehicle Mohamed was driving to stop.

A male sitting in one of the parked vehicles was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Mohamed was also taken to a hospital for possible injuries.

Five vehicles were struck during the incident, one having significant rear-end damage.
