CHARISM Neighborhood Resource Centers, Fargo, has been awarded a $4,000 Giving Hearts Day matching grant from Dakota Medical Foundation, Fargo.
The grant will help support CHARISM’s work with low-income and English language learner children.
Family HealthCare receives grant for clinic
Family HealthCare Center, Fargo, has been awarded a $1,000 grant from Dakota Medical Foundation, Fargo.
The award will be used to help open the new clinic that is set to open later this year.
American Red Cross receives match grant
The Minn-Kota Region of the American Red Cross has received a $4,000 grant from Dakota Medical Foundation, Fargo.
The funds are a match after the fundraising efforts during Giving Hearts Day when the Red Cross raised more than $15,000 in individual donations.
These funds will be used to support emergency services and programs throughout the region.
Foundation awards grants to nonprofits
The Alex Stern Foundation, Fargo, has awarded grants to nonprofit organizations in the Fargo-Moorhead area. The grants included:
Camp Fire USA, $3,000 for Great Adventures/Great Day Out; Big Brother/Big Sister, $5,000, mentoring project; Fargo Park District, $1,750, Classic Music Festival; The Learning Bank, $1,500, fine arts series project; Fargo Public Schools Development Foundation, $7,500, milk and supplies for children from low-income families;
Rape and Abuse Crisis Center, $5,000, male victims support; Emergency Food Pantry, $5,000, relocation expense; Impact Foundation, $3,000, Fore Golf for Kids program; Fraser Ltd., $10,000, skill enhancement training program; Hospice of the Red River Valley, $5,000, update resource library; Jamestown College and Mayville State University, $7,500 each, scholarships for students from Cass and Clay counties; Riding on Angels Wings, $5,000, scholarships for children with disabilities;
Theatre B, $4,000, youth development program; and F-M Area Youth Symphonies, $3,500, Dorothy Day House, $10,000, Churches United, $10,000, FirstLink, $5,000, North Dakota 4-H Foundation, $2,500, North Dakota Scottish Rite Children’s Language Center, $2,500, Nokomis Child Care Center, $5,000, Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre, $5,000, HandiWheels Transportation, $15,000, Kamp Kace, $5,000, Presentation Partners in Housing, $10,000, and Red River Boys Choir, $2,500, all for general operating support.
