Applied Engineering hires design engineer
Evan Riskedahl has joined Applied Engineering in Fargo as a design engineer. He will work in the firm’s engineering services department.
Riskedahl graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
State Bank hires Frank as VP, branch manager
Cara Frank has been named vice president/branch manager at State Bank and Trust in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Frank, a native of Alborn, Minn., is a graduate of Lake Superior College. She has 12 years of banking experience. Frank previously worked at Bremer Bank in Detroit Lakes and for the past nine years was a lender with First Security Bank, Detroit Lakes.
Larson joins Sanford Occupational Medicine
Sanford Health has named Dale Larson the employer relations representative in the Occupational Medicine Clinic, Fargo.
He will represent Sanford in expanding the clinic’s programs of injury care, health screens, medical surveillance, mobile services, and First Aid and safety supply.
Larson has 30 years of business experience in Fargo-Moorhead, most recently with FRS Industries, Fargo.
American Crystal hires three, promotes one
American Crystal has hired Craig Maetzold as regulatory affairs manager at the company’s corporate headquarter in Moorhead, Chad Solberg as an electrical and instrumentation supervisor at the factory in East Grand Forks, Minn., and Todd Cymbaluk as an agriculturist in the Drayton, N.D., district.
The company promoted Ed Dillman to maintenance engineer in the Drayton factory.
Maetzold has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in business administration. He has more than 16 years of environmental and engineering experience.
Solberg is a graduate of the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, with an associate’s degree in industrial electrical/electronic communications, and has more than 12 years of experience.
Cymbaluk has a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from North Dakota State University and has more than 25 years of experience in the agronomy field.
Dillman graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and has been with American Crystal since 2011.
NDSU hires Robinson as potato agronomist
Andy Robinson has been hired as an Extension Service potato agronomist in the North Dakota State University Plant Sciences Department.
Robinson’s areas of responsibility include Extension Service work and research on potato production in North Dakota and Minnesota. He has a joint appointment with the University of Minnesota.
Robinson, originally from Parma, Idaho, received a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Brigham Young University. He earned a master’s degree in agronomy and a doctorate in weed science from Purdue University.
Intelligent InSites hires Dahlberg as an engineer
Naomi Dahlberg has been hired as a quality assurance engineer at Intelligent InSites, Fargo.
Dahlberg previously worked for Microsoft and Sundog Interactive. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and psychology from North Dakota State University and has done graduate coursework toward a master’s degree in English at NDSU.
DeJong joins Border Appraisals in Fargo
Border Appraisals, Fargo, has hired Ryan DeJong as a residential property appraiser.
He is a graduate of North Dakota State University and has more than 10 years of experience in property valuation.
DeJong previously worked for the Clay County assessor’s office and was county assessor for the past two years.
Klamm promoted to administrative assistant
The Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau has promoted Emily Klamm to administrative assistant.
She previously was associated with the FMCVB as an intern in event services during the summer of 2011 and as a part-time travel ambassador.
Klamm recently graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management.
Heinz, Larson join Vareberg Engineering
Vareberg Engineering, Fargo, has hired Brian Heinz as a computer-aided drafting technician and Daren Larson as an electrical designer.
Heinz graduated from the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton. Larson also graduated from NDSCS and has more than eight years of experience in the electrical construction industry.
Valley Mortgage hires mortgage banker
Angela Searls has joined Valley Mortgage, 3301 13th Ave. S., Fargo, as a mortgage banker.
Searls graduated from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management with a bachelor’s degree in business. She has 16 years of sales experience.
TMI Hospitality hires Bourdon, Hetland
Fargo-based TMI Hospitality has hired Laura Bourdon as director of corporate communications and Ruth Hetland as project manager.
Bourdon has 10 years of strategic communications experience in corporate and nonprofit settings, most recently serving as director of marketing and communications for Oak Grove Lutheran School, Fargo. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master’s degree in business administration from North Dakota State University.
Hetland received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from MSUM and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota. She has several years of project management, internal audit and software development experience. She previously worked for Feed Management Systems, Fargo.
Bonanzaville hires marketing coordinator
Julie Trotter has joined Bonanzaville, West Fargo, as the sales and marketing coordinator.
Trotter is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Crookston, with bachelor degrees in hotel, restaurant and tourism management and marketing.
Jacob Wognum joins Houston Engineering
Jacob Wognum has joined Houston Engineering’s Fargo office as a civil engineer in the water resources department.
He is a native of Ely, Minn., and recently graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Wognum has worked for the past two summers at Houston Engineering.
Sean Coffman joins Red Cross staff in Fargo
Sean Coffman has been named emergency services director at the American Red Cross in Fargo.
Coffman has received more than 400 hours of Red Cross disaster training and deployed as a disaster services caseworker to North Dakota flooding last year. He will be responsible for all emergency services in the Minn-Kota region’s southeast district.
Coffman previously served as the territory service delivery manager for the Red Cross’s Preparedness, Health and Safety Services in Cheyenne, Wyo., and he was a community disaster education and disaster response trainer for the Red Cross in London, Ohio.
Prior to working with the Red Cross, he was vice president of creative services for Mandalay Baseball Properties.
Eilertson and Cole hired at Otter Tail Corp.
Otter Tail Corp. has hired David Eilertson as associate general counsel and Mike Cole as network manager. Both will work in the Fargo corporate office.
Eilertson previously worked at Ulteig Engineers as legal director. He is a graduate of Concordia College and the University of North Dakota School of Law, Grand Forks.
Cole has an extensive background in information technology services and previously worked as IT manager at Aevenia, an Otter Tail company.
Western State Bank hires one, promotes one
Justin Pearson has joined Western State Bank, West Fargo, as an assistant vice president/business banking officer; and Angie Scoville has been promoted to personal banking officer at Western State Bank, Fargo.
Pearson is originally from Bowman, N.D., and has a degree in banking and financial economics from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. He previously was vice president of the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corp. and was also a commercial loan officer at Dakota CDC, both in Fargo.
Scoville has been with Western since 2003 and previously was business banking assistant and cash management officer. Originally from West Fargo, Scoville earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Hideaway Salon hires Bellanger as stylist
Heidi Bellanger has joined the staff at the Hideaway Salon, 1108 2nd Ave. S., Moorhead.
Bellanger attended Ingénue Beauty School in Moorhead and was previously a stylist for more than four years with MJ Capelli.
She specializes in dimensional coloring, cutting, waxing and perms.
Kevin Mason joins Vogel Law Firm in Fargo
Kevin Mason has joined the Vogel Law Firm, Fargo.
Mason’s practice will focus on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, oil and gas, agribusiness, and secured lending and leasing transactions.
He previously worked in Washington, D.C., Poland and Ukraine, where he represented venture capital and technology investors, and acquirers of banks and agribusiness concerns.
Mason, a native of Iowa, graduated from the University of Iowa, Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Cleveland, and Georgetown University Law Center, Washington.

Michelle Eklund has joined the Family HealthCare Center in Fargo as a health information and technology project coordinator.
Eklund has a bachelor’s degree in science and psychology and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Phoenix.

Mau received an associate’s degree in electronics from the University of North Dakota, Lake Region, and Kunz earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from North Dakota State University.

Four new employees at Sundog in Fargo
Sundog Inc., Fargo, has hired Jeff Knight as a creative designer, Jennifer Lefor as a senior analyst, Jon Webb as an analyst and Kelley Eukel as an associate project manager.
Knight has worked for six years as a graphic designer at North Dakota State University, Anoka-Ramsey (Minn.) Community College and Concordia College. He attended Concordia and the Savannah (Ga.) College of Art and Design.
Prior to joining Sundog, Lefor was executive vice president and chief information officer at Reier Group, Minneapolis, and director of marketing at Corporate Technologies, Fargo. She graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in business administration.
Webb spent the past seven years as an analyst/programmer for Noridian Mutual Insurance, Fargo. He earned associate degrees in computer programming and computer networking at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
Eukel was previously an aftermarket marketing coordinator for Bobcat Co., Bismarck. She graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in public relations, advertising and management communication.
