Motorists urged to use caution near marathon

FARGO – Drivers are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations during Fargo Marathon events Friday and Saturday. Several roads will be closed, and traffic numbers will be higher than usual, affecting travel throughout Fargo, according to a release from the city.

The following areas are expected to be congested, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes:

Drivers are advised to use 25th Street as an alternate to University Drive on the south side of town. Those traveling to the Fargodome are asked to use 12th Avenue North or 19th Avenue North via Interstate 29. If the destination is north of the Fargodome, it is suggested to use County Road 20 or 19th Avenue North from I-29.
