Fargo man, sans pants, accused of trying to run over friends after argument
Officers responded to the disturbance call at 5:45 a.m. today in the 1000 block of 27th Street North.
The friends, a man and woman, told police they invited the suspect over at about 11 p.m. Tuesday. At some point he removed his clothes and an argument ensued, spilling into the backyard and an alleyway, Lt. Joel Vettel said.
By the time the argument escalated into a physical fight in the alley, the suspect had on a shirt but no pants, Vettel said.
The suspect climbed into a red Oldsmobile and backed into the alley, then drove forward and allegedly tried to strike the victims, who told police the car was going about 40 mph and missed them by about a foot, Vettel said.
The car struck a garage in the alley, after which the suspect backed up and allegedly tried to strike the victims three or four more times, Vettel said.
The suspect allegedly fled the scene and was located by police several minutes later. There was visible damage to the car and garage, Vettel said.
Police arrested Troy Allen Whiteowl on suspicion of aggravated reckless endangerment, driving under suspension and leaving the scene of an accident. He was taken to the Cass County Jail.
